Adobe unveils CS5 – win a copy

Finally, the eagerly anticipated Adobe Creative Suite 5 has been launched.

Computer Arts has compiled a list of 40 new features in CS5 that {I must admit} has whetted my appetite and got me thinking about upgrading. It’s well worth a read if you’re looking for a comprehensive overview of key features across the whole suite.

Hitler Responds to the iPad

UPDATE: As of 21st April 2010, YouTube have removed all Hitler parody films from their website because of copyright issues. Ah well, on to the next viral trend.

Twitter and the Web is awash with opinion concerning the release of Apple’s new iPad tablet. Touted as the device that can reverse the fortunes of the flagging Netbook market, I’m not so sure. All of my needs are currently met by my MacBook and iPhone – this doesn’t add anything to help me personally. Electric Dreams on BBC4

I really enjoyed the excellent “Electric Dreams” season that aired recently on BBC4.
As well as reminding me of long forgotten games and gadgets from the 1970s, ’80s & ’90s, the condensing of three decades into three hours made my head spin with the speed of technological development.

It seems like we have had home computers, microwaves, the internet, mp3 players, satellite TV, etc… for soooo much longer than we actually have.

Google Wave Launched

Reported on Channel 4 News this evening was today’s launch of Google Wave, the new web tool from search giant Google. Being hyped as a replacement for email, it aims to combine messaging and wiki-style editing to allow users to work online from shared files, communicating instantly in realtime.
