Any regular visitor to this site {hello Mum} will have spotted that the new version is now up and running. This also marks my personal evolution to WordPress Theme Designer.
In a later post I intend to detail the resources that helped me develop my theme, widgetise my sidebar, and solve a few of the seemingly insignificant, but enormously irritating, technical challenges along the way. Having only been online for a few months, the Brown Hound V.1 website has served its original purpose, and is heading for the chop.
Coinciding with my re-brand from Oi-! Design to Brown Hound, I was keen to use the redevelopment of the website as a real-life {but not client based} opportunity to ‘get under the bonnet’ of WordPress.
I have certainly been impressed with its entire back office area; it fully ties in with the Open Source philosophy that is fundamental to pushing the development of web and mobile applications further {something that I am a huge fan of}. The fact that plugins are numerous and can be added with ease is amazing, and I can see that WordPress as an elegant CMS is something that could offer my clients a cost effective and totally flexible solution for their increasingly interactive websites.
