The figure and cast studies are both the results of my final week at Sarum Studio. Sadly, my drawing was rather rushed due to time constraints. In particular the cast study is less accurate than a longer 60-70 hour study would strive to achieve.
The figure is more successful, but the pose has an uneasy quality about it that detracts a little from the drawing (in my opinion). Interestingly, this does reflect the model well however. Being new to life modelling, the awkwardness in the pose is a genuine reflection of her lack of experience and confidence. She did very well though, and I wish her many thanks and congratulations on her courage.
All in all, I have had a wonderful introduction to academic “Atelier” training, and will be continuing with a period of self motivated study while researching all future learning options that are open to me.
