A Drawing and a Painting
Two recent figure studies, one a drawing and one in paint. The charcoal drawing is larger and was done over 7 or 8 sessions, and the painting is very small and mostly completed in one session with a little tidying up.
The proportions aren’t quite right with the painting, but there are areas of brushwork that I am very pleased with, and some subtle coloration that doesn’t show up in the photo. The extra time allotted to the drawing had a rather more negative effect. I fiddled a bit too much with small details and as a result some areas are a little overworked for my liking.
